چکیده

A CO 2 -capturing hybrid-type power generation system with highly e cient use of solar thermal energy was proposed and its characteristics were investigated. In the system, relatively low temperature saturated steam is produced using solar thermal energy and is used as the working uid of a methanering gas-turbine system. The solar thermal utilization e ciency becomes considerably high compared with that of conventional solar thermal power plants in which superheated steam near 670 K is used as the working uid of steam turbines. The proposed system is a hybrid-type energy system in which the generated CO 2 is recovered based on combusting oxygen, and thus a highly e cient system without emissions of CO 2 and NO x can be expected to be constructed even in regions with poor solar insolation. The characteristics of the system with 10,000 m 2 collector area were estimated based on a computer simulation model. It has been estimated through simulation study that the net generated power is 1.55 MW, the capacity factor is 21.5%, the total exergetic e ciency is 20.9% when the temperature of the saturated steam is 496 K. It has also been shown, when calculated on the basis of consumed fuel, that the net thermal e ciency of the system is 63.7%, being higher than 46% compared with that of the conventional power plant with 43.5% e ciency.

Cost and performance analysis of an integrated solar combined cycle with two tanks for indirect thermal energy storage

In this paper, the annual and economic performance of an integrated solar combined cycle (ISCC) with indirect energy storage tanks is investigated. The study includes four scenarios, in which the combined cycle performance was studied exclusively in the first scenario. In the second scenario, the integrated solar combined cycle (ISCC) was examined, and the use of supplementary firing instead of...

BIC based on Modified Droop Control of Hybrid AC/DC Microgrid with PV/Wind/ESS under Variable Generation and Load Conditions

The idea of a microgrid is created by utilizing more diverse ac or dc distributed generation (DG) sources along with an energy storage system (ESS) and loads. The most efficient and reliable selection of ac and dc microgrids is a hybrid ac/dc microgrid. The hybrid microgrid largely overcomes the shortcomings of standalone ac or dc microgrids. A bidirectional interlinking converter (BIC) is util...

Day-ahead economic dispatch of coupled desalinated water and power grids with participation of compressed air energy storages

Nowadays, water and electricity are closely interdependent essential sources in human life that affect socio-economic growth and prosperity. In other words, electricity is a fundamental source to supply a seawater desalination process, while fresh water is used for cooling this power plant. Therefore, mutual vulnerability of water treatment and power generation systems is growing because of inc...

Energy and economic comparison of SOFC-GT, MCFC-GT, and SOFC-MCFC-GT hybrid systems

Conversion of fossil fuels to electrical power is the most popular method of electrical power generation. Due to the depletion of fossil fuels and the increase in air pollution, the necessity of using high efficiency power generation systems is increasing. High temperature fuel cells, such as solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) and molten carbonate fuel cells (MCFC), have high efficiency. According t...
